Today is the 30th Anniversary of when Gary Lang Chevrolet first opened its doors in McHenry.

It all began on May 15, 1983.  What began as a single-point Chevy dealership in downtown McHenry grew over the years to the only full-line General Motors dealership in the Chicago area, as well an Auto Group that offers Kia, Mitsubishi and Subaru vehicles.

Gary Lang Classic Car Show participants donated $1,356 today to the Salvation Army for McHenry County.

"We asked each participant to donate $5 for the Salvation Army's summer school supply drive," stated Dixie Gilmore, VP/GM of the Gary Lang Auto Group, "Many people donated more and several dropped off school supplies for the drive, as well."

The donation will go to the local Salvation Army Corp based in Crystal Lake.  The summer school supply drive helps kids in need get a backpack filled…
