Kia hosted journalists for a hypermiling ride and drive from Miami to Key West, Fla., to showcase the Optima Hybrid and Rio's class-leading 40 miles per gallon3 on the highway.

Hypermiling encourages drivers to engage in techniques to maximize their fuel economy. The 159-mile route from Miami to Key West is primarily straight and flat; the perfect environment to achieve maximum MPGs.

Kia Racing's Pirelli World Challenge season has been off to a rapid start. Today, the No. 36 and No. 38 Infinity Audio Optimas return to the track at the legendary Laguna Seca to chase a third consecutive podium finish. Kia Racing looks to take advantage of the impressive torque generated by the Optimas' turbocharged 2.0L gasoline direct injected (GDI) engines to climb the hill to Laguna's famous "Corkscrew" turn and pull them up the long front straight. The No. 10 and No. 12 Infinity Audio Forte Koups have been off to a fast start this season in GRAND-AM's Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge (CTSCC). The Koups will return to the track Saturday for round three, the Kia 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway (HMS). The race could prove historic as Andy Lally chases his 100^th career GRAND-AM podium finish from behind the wheel of the No. 10 Infinity Audio Forte Koup that he shares with defending Street Tuner (ST) class Drivers champion Nic Jönsson. Mark and Mathew Pombo, co-pilots of the No. 12 Infinity Audio Forte Koup, also look to make noise of their own and return to the podium in Miami after narrowly missing the ST win last season.
